Where do you enter the code, I just know where to enter the security code, and I'm getting frustrated trying to find out where to put it

What is the special item? I saw it, was intrigued, but didn't do it because I have no idea what it could be.

in the ps3 version of the game there is a registration card for the game

if you register on squeenix's site you will get a in-game item for ff 14 and you an register to possibly be picked for the beta testing
