ive decided to restart FF9...if anyone has any advice or know wher3 any secret weapons/items are....

Get to Memoria within 12:00:00 hours of play and score Excalibur II weapon

Do the Chocobo H&C sidequest.

Tell Ruby "no" or something about 70 times in the opening scene to get her to say something completely different! (No, I'm not making this up.)

Get Excalibur II.

Unless you prefer being the elitist, aiming for the EXII is a waste of time given that you will both miss the enjoyment from playing the game and that it would take more than one try doing so the first time.

I don't think any top weapons are available until the fourth disc, but you can get the 2nd or third best weapons via Hilde Garge airship sometime in the third disc.

Zidane's - You need a dark blue chocobo + dead peppppas, locacted where shimmering isle used to be.

Eiko's - Kinda pointless (worst char. imo) butttt I believe it's in Memoria.

Garnet's - Use a dead pepppa off vivi's old house (correct me if I'm wrong)

Amarant's - Memoria, pretty far in.

Vivi's - One of last places in the game (in Memoria)

Freya - I forgot ;]

Steiner - it's the Ragnorak, but I hella forgot.

Quina - Collect 99 frogs in the Qu Marsh frog catching bullshit of a minigame and defeat QUAN.

I believe Steiner's is a part of a Chocohot H&Q, might be wrong though.

Freya - I think you get the Holy Lance through the normal course of the game (just checked and you can steal it from Ark in Oeilvert)
Steiner - I'm 99% sure that the Ragnarok is in a chocograph location

As other people have said though, do the Chocobo Hot and Cold sidequest as early as possible (when you first leave Lindblum for Gizamaluke's Grotto, you can enter a forest near the Qu's Marsh).

IIRC, you can get to the Chocobo Lagoon early as soon as you get the Blue Narciss (the boat, not the airship) and a Chocobo with the Reef ability (this can be gotten just by finding the treasures, finding a certain one will get you the ability). It's an island west of the very bottom tip of the Mist Continent (the first continent you start on). There's an island beside it with chocobo tracks. Dock the boat there, call a chocobo, then use the reef ability to get to the next island (there should be a hole in the side of the next island, just enter it).

steiner is excalibuy 2 you need to get to memoria on disc 4 in under 12 hours. it can be done with a glitch were you open your ps1 disc thing(i dont know what it is called) but then the timer will stop xD

I never could find that last smithing or w/e guy..
