I never played FF before,

now on psp there FF 13 or 14 wathevere is releases.
Will i understand the story if i havent played 1-13?

Each Final Fantasy has a new story. You'll be fine. But really....you should go back and play them all anyway they are amazing games.

evilution lol. ok each game has its different story. different characters and story and bosses and all that. but there are only a few things that there is in all the games. kupo wich is a little dull thing like magic thing. then chocobos and they are coooool

everywhere u find things u can compare with as it was mentioned...but to ure question...there is nothing that tards u playin the latest game but it would be nice when u also play the older ones, even if the graphics are not so brilliant...the story stays sharpened

All the Final Fantasy games have different stories. Only FFVII and FFX have sequels or prequel. And FFXI is an online game with expansions.

you gotta play the older ones on ps1 before you go to ps2. else you will get bored

There are some reappearing aspects in the games, but it's non-vital for the story and doesn't decrease the joy of playing the game

It used to be each was it's own little thing, but they've seen that they can make a ton of money branching out FF7 because of its undue popularity, so more and more sequal like games are going to be seen until they've squeezed every dime out of Vincent, Sephiroth and Cloud

FFX-2 was just sad
