Hey guys I have been experimenting with a Jade Shaman deck, originally intended to hard counter Demon Warlock with Hexes and Devolves and Harrison Jones.
After tweaking it I have now found a full blown tempo/control deck
any Shaman players please try it out and give me some critique, any questions about certain tech cards lmk.
Here it is, feel free to try it out,
Details on each matchup below
It is a hard mulligan for the Jade claws every single game, as the jade claws not only get the jades going but activate the 3 mana rummaging kobold and provide early game defense. You can easily use your life as a resource with 2 healing rains and the Jinyu waterspeaker (6 health, doubled if tied with murmuring elemental.
The Deck is Very much built around the murmuring elemental to amplify the jade numbers.
Grumble works VERY WELL in this deck, eventually your jades will be big and the opponent is forced to clear the bigger minions, you then grumble to easily recycle your jade making cards as they are still alive being only 2/3's and 5/5 chieftain lives cuz taunt jades in way.. murmuring elemental and the jade spirit live cuz he was forced to kill the 5/5 and 6/6 jades then you just replay with a 7/7 and 7/7 jade and 8/8 jade cuz murmuring op. Some fun shit happens on the regular with Grumble. Grumble itself is a versatile card in that you can recycle the jinyu water speaker for more health gain, or even a rummaging kobold for an extra jade. getting a murmuring elemental and the jade making card or jinyu back that only means good things. In a pinch you can heal your minion for 1 mana basically...
Healing rain is an insanely good value card, 3 mana heal 12 face? or 3 mana heal 6 face and heal all your minions to full?? very efficient card, as well the versatility is insane especially against those Jainas that need certain health numbers to spawn their 3/6's.
The deck only really fails to pure face decks and you get terrible draws, even then if the face deck/mage tempo deck doesn't get good draws either you can easily equalize with all the healing, then take over with jades. If you get your weapon in opening hand your win rate is basically 100% against face decks.
Lotus agents is easily replaceable I just love that card in control matchups becuase there is a good chance you get another jade card. Grumble/Murmuring elemntal why not??!
Volcanoing ur acolyte of pain is like an 8 mana board clear/draw 3 cards. Very sexy.
VS priests that go full northsire, you can healing rain to royally fuck them. Its fun.
Tar Creeper shines vs Face decks, seriously tar creeper is a broken card. Tar Creeper also great when you want to flick the switch seeing a 2 turn lethal and get the tar creeper in the way for that easy second face smash with the 9/9 or 10/10 jade to win the game.
Tech card options: Jinyu water speaker, acidic swamp ooze, rummaging kobold, taunt minions, eater of secrets, deathwing, coldlight oracle, volcano, lightning storm, lightning bolt, Very open to suggestions!!
Do note be afraid to play your coldlight oracle to let them draw cards, of course in VERY RARE situations it is not recommended to let your opponent draw. but ignore that, DO NOT BE afraid of letting your opponent draw cards. draw 2 cards get a 22 on bard is FUCKING massive for your game.### Custom Shaman

Specific Matchups:
Control Warlock: As expressed, the deck is built to counter demonlock. They typically only have 4 demons, there are 2 devolves, and two hexes. Harrison Jones is a 5/4 draw 3 every single time. Even with 2 twisting nethers the jades once they reach 6/6 are unstoppable. you will win 80-90% of these games, played properly, hard mulligan for weapons, If I see a hex in opening hand that is also sexy for an early big demon from the warlocks side, so I have no quarrel with keeping it. DO NOT HEX GIANTS unless ofc you are about to die.. hex 5/7 and 3/9 you win game. even when they get off some 3/9s you can clear them with big jades. can get cheeky with coldlight in this matchup if he likes the keep cards.
Recruit Pally: This matchup falls under the category of face matchup. You have enough board clears and devolves to stay in the game and if you can get jades running early with some nice weapon/rummaging action the game is over as soon as you draw a heal. Easily you win 50% Hard mulligan for weapons. if you hit a wall of face you might want to tech out the lotus agent for another board clear or something. this is a matchup where you need to be careful with your overload and if you survive turn 4-6 you mostly win.
Tempo (Secret or other variant) Mage: Essentially the same as above, treat this as a face deck. hard mulligan for weapon. You want to have the weapon to kill the 4/3 kirin tor mage (jade golem, or totem, or maelstrom portal assist) or the 3/2 summoners apprentice. I tend to coin my weapon if Jaina plays a 1/3 wyrm, and have a turn 3 play such as another weapon or the rummaging. rummaging weapon in opening hand wins this matchup a lot, on that note, DO NOT keep rummaging in your hand, unless you also have the weapon. A very sexy note about this matchup is that with jades, you always get two minions, so their secrets aren't as effective if say you play murmuring elemental, it gets sheeped, then you play jade spirit and get 3 minions. I would throw away a hex or a maelstrom or even a devolve for my healing against counter spell and the like, of course this is situational, but 3 mana heal 12 face is fucking huge vs a tempo deck.
Jaina Deathknight Mage Variant (control/tempo): The beauty about not knowing if it truly is a Jaina mage or just s secret.tempo mage is that you play against it the same. You really want to be aggressive vs most mages especially if they are aggressive.. I find in most cases if I am tempo oriented vs the Jaina mages then I am able to dwindle their card count so by the time they get Jaina, they cannot manipulate the hero power well enough. But as this Shaman deck really is a control deck; you can go punch for punch every step of the game. Your Jades eventually outscale everything. hard mulligan for weapon
Quest/Exodia Mage: Try to kill her as fast as possible. treat her like ur a tempo deck because you are on a timer. If you hit a wall of quest mages you can tech a eater of secrets. hard mulligan for weapons. Healing doesn't matter as much because she wont try to kill you until she can get exodia. You can get cheeky and if she likes to keep cards you can double coldlight her with murmuring and sometimes you get instant resign from her cuz she discards a bunch of combo pieces.
Priest: Some of my best games have been against control priest decks, this Shaman deck can go toe to toe with the best of the control decks and priest is no exception. Priest steals Jade cards, who cares? Maybe a hex, but you have 13/13s and 14/14s coming after he hexes your 7/7 because he is forced to from your tempo. You are the aggressor against priest in most cases. Sometimes the priest can run away if you cant answer the northshire cleric into shadow ascendant. So you are hard on a hard mulligan for weapon ofc. Keeping devolve in opening hand also crushes the priest with this opening. Priests lose to Jades naturally, so just use that advantage and murmuring elementals on turn 9 with chieftain to get a 5/5, 5/5, nd 6/6. Most cant stop and you can easily reload with another wave of jades if he uses his board clears.
Hunter: Face deck, whether its the spell only one with the weapon or not. Also Harrison still fucks up all hunters. Your healing keeps your strong vs this matchup, might want to save a murmuring for a double heal with the jinyu waterspeaker.hard mulligan for board clears and weapon.
Rogue: Outtempo any rogue deck, If it is quest, then you need to be fast. Sometimes quest justs hit sthe nuts and you lose. thats hearthstone. Most times vs Rogues if you get weapon early they cant stop your 4/4 5/5 turn 6/7 jades with their piddly little 0 mana deal 2 damage shit cards.
Druids: This matchup is a bit tougher and more card draw reliant in the same sense goign against an exodia mage would.. Druids just have op as fuck cards like obviously Ultimate Infestation and they just outvalue every other class if they let them. But you are still on a 60-40 win ratio in favour of this Deck EASILY as Druid tends to be 'all around' decks, and this Shaman deck is a faster all around deck. If you get your jades going, Druds dont have creature destruction, the game is over. VS token druids or face druids, treat as any face deck.
Shamans No one plays Shaman right now
Warrior: OutTempo them. Hard mulligan for weapon. Jades > brawl.
