I'm playing a Wild Pauper ladder which means only Basics and Commons.

Trying to decide if it's worth it to play Secrets and Mad Scientist without Eaglehorn Bow in my Midrange Hunter.

If I don't I'd probably replace them with some combination of Glaivezooka, Fiery Bat, second Quick Shot, Scavenging Hyena (not sure if I want to play it would Tundra Rhino).

Hunter secrets are pretty weak overall if you aren't getting to play them efficiently

Explosive trap is probably the only good one
Pulling freezing trap out of a mad scientist can just end up giving them a 1/1 token in their hand

You could do 2 explosive 1 scientist though

probably is worth it... The scientist/secrets thin out your deck and provide some value.. more then most commons/in hunter.
you run into the chance of an opening hand plagued with secrets, but hey.. that's hearthstone.

I don't think you'd run explosive traps unless youre looking for a mostly face-plan deck.
beartrap, freezing trap and snipe are pretty decent value, situational though.

post what you came up with? decklist I mean

tbh im not even sure if that secret image is up to date LOL is it missing ungoro?

I faced certain opponents multiple times so I teched the decklist based on what I expected them to play, but this is the list I played for most games and for any blind games:

Ended up with the best winrate in the ladder so had some pretty good success with it. Strong decks I played against included an aggro/midrange shaman with 4 mana 7/7s and Fireguard Destroyers (teched in Hunter's Marks and extra Freezing Trap), and ofc Pirate Warrior.

Not sure what I would've changed. Was successful but still not sure about the secret package or about Webspinner.

Cards I tried at points included 2nd Quick Shot, Glaivezooka, and Hunter's Mark.

Way late to the party, but here goes.

Do you have all of Kara? Because Cloaked Huntress and Cat Trick are what you want in secret hunter. Then you go full secret with like 7 secrets, Secretkeepers, Bows, Scientists, etc.

If you don't have Cloaked Huntress, then you should probably just run mid hunter with no secrets. In that case, Eaglehorn might still be worth running, in standard it's very common in lists with no secrets.

Looking at your current list, I would add crabs (definitely for pirates and possibly for murlocs if you have them). Topping out at Nesting Rook seems odd, it's a fine card, but at the top of your curve, Hydra are probably better at 5, or Highmanes. First cuts for me would be Webspinners and Shredders (maybe even Kindly Grandmas), they are slow and you aren't running N'Zoth.

You could also consider adding a pirate package and Glaivezookas. My wild secret hunter was using pirates in MSOG, but I don't know if that would be better then a turn 1 beast into Crackling nowadays.

Super helpful for a format that only allows basics and commons lol.

Reading is hard, mmkay.

Even though Cloaked Huntress is common, you probably don't want to run any secrets because you don't have Secretkeepers.

I quickly brewed a list for the format that I would use.
