Welcome to all popular card games
If those games were 1/10th as popular as Hearthstone they'd develop strict metas as well.
I'm not talking about meta. I'm talking about game flow/pace.
I'm saying if you try to make a creative deck you'll lose the game before you can even do anything
And Hearthstone hates combo decks which are some of the most fun you can have in any card game

Other card games have actual advantages for defensive play (In Legends you get more cards from taking damage with the potential to have free cards played, in Eternal the defender has advantage in combat so you can lose minions by attacking similar to MTG. Hex also has advantages for defense.)
Hearthstone just seems poorly designed in comparison where it's all about hitting curves and hitting face with nothing your opponent can do in the meantime and no other macro strategies besides trying to out-value someone before they kill you.
With every combo removed and with every turn faster the game gets per expansion.. it just became less and less interesting to me.
And I think many people in this subforum are starting to agree.
I don't think there's any way I could agree to Hearthstone being even close to the best.
