Goes on huge rants about how shitty Hearthstone is now
Too bad he won't quit because he makes ridiculous money from it

I haven't listened to his rant yet, but I will.

I agree with the statement: "Hearthstone is shitty now." I'm actually looking for a different card game to play on the regular (something with a much lower cost & greater focus on just getting to play ladder for the sake of competition).

Problems I have with Hearthstone:
- Uninspired cards coming out. Hearthstone team doesn't want to break the game, so they just come out with vanilla uninspired cards that take the game nowhere.
- Rush zoo decks are almost the same as when they first came out.
- Hearthstone team doesn't want a "broken" game, so they 'ban' combo decks, or interesting combo cards, however you want to look at it.
- Hearthstone team doesn't like reworking old cards to make them more viable in play, they just to rebalances to make sure the game stays vanilla. They aren't afraid of nerfing cards out of usefulness forever.
- Tavern Brawls have gone nowhere. Uninspired. Lots of rehashed ones that are unpopular and boring. A couple rehashed ones that I have enjoyed.
- Feels like the Hearthstone team is coasting, and just trying to bank on hosting tournaments.

The past 3 days I actually didn't do my quests (I was full 3 quests and didn't do them, missed out on 3 daily quests). First time in since game was released that I've done that (save for a couple vacations).

The game has constantly felt like "Just another expansion and these card combos and possibilities are going to come to fruition. The game just needs some more interesting cards to tie together other niche card effects, and we'll have a mature, really cool game." And then the expansion hits and yawn.

Come out with interesting cards! And new mechanics. Field spells. Whatever. I don't care. If there were field mechanics, you could have something that says "Whenever a player becomes a new hero, that hero comes into play with 10 extra armor."

I like Elder Scrolls Legends and Eternal CG for other card games

Kripp covers a few of the complaints you had

He's currently the top of reddit by a land slide

Kripps always complaining.
I think alot of what he said was valid, and other times its like hes playing a different game entirely.
Too many conclusions drawn from his very small sample size of constructed games he plays trying to get rank 20.

He seems to think there is an epidemic of games ending on turn 4, with pure aggro pirate warrior/shaman everywhere.
Thats just not the case. According to VS only about 26% of the meta are those two decks.

Much of it is more midrange oriented. (mid jade almost 10%)

Reno mage+lock+priest = 20%
Miracle wasnt mentioned, almost 10%.
Druid jade, and dragon priest another 11%

throwing out things like 'forget new players, there arent any' is just silly.

ofc being more reactive to nerfs that are needed would be nice, and card design crutches were noted.

bunch of other stuff i forget. getting tired. long day.
tl;dr kripp realizes salt videos are where the money is at, and dont require him to actually play much ranked.

Most of the reddit community is basically praising this video with nothing but upvotes and agreements

His biggest complaint I think is about the anti-fun of these decks more than their popularity
I mean 26% means that 1 in every 4 games you're going to feel like shit and not even want to play a game of who has the better hand.

Of course. Hes their king telling them what they want to hear. And he did have some good points in there too.

I think he mischaracterizes how these games play out, particularly if its aggro v aggro or midrange. They dont usually end t4.
Significant room for interaction and decisions.
I dont think they are inherently antifun every time, although pirate everything is kinda lame.

Its usually just reno vs straight aggro that is decided like that. most aggressive line vs most defensive line, poor draws are punished and lose fast.

Being able to pick up and play a fast game is part of the fun for some people. They dont want the 30 minute control mirror, and most players are more comfortable playing face or curve decks regardless of viability.

I haven't played too much hearthstone in the last months, mostly doing my dailies and getting r5 every season is what I'm aiming at.
I don't feel like aggro decks is the main issue, they have been around for the beginning of hearthstone.

What triggers me is a bit of everything. Aggro is among the list, Cleef and Adventurer sometimes fuck me over pretty hard too.
I don't really like what Reno decks have become. They took out the classic control decks as we know them. Only alternative is some Jade Decks, which also get boring after a while. And run over by aggro.
The mechanics that allowed control decks to survive Aggro Agression have also gone to Standard, like Healbot or Sludge Belcher.
Flametongue totems have become so strong with aggro Shaman having all those Tokens on the board. The amount of possible value is insane.

Something like dragon priest is fun. But they had to put ridiculous cards like Drakonid Crusher in to make it work. And besides that they killed any other possible Priest variation.

What also gets me is that your entirely reliant on RNG. Whether it's Rogue, Shaman, Warrior etc. This has always been the case, but it feels like this more than ever before.

Besides that Hunter has vanished and Paladin only has the Murloc variant if I'm correct.
That leads to the fact that the number of decks which can be played on a competitive level is really thinned out.

I don't know that much about the game, that's just a few thoughts that come to my mind.
But I regularly watch streams from good players and they also feel like Hearthstone is not as enjoyable anymore.
