October and November I have played against about 36% and now almost 40% shaman

I keep getting stuck at rank 2 trying to counter them with N'zoth control warrior

do I need to switch up my deck or am I just getting unlucky? I know to hold out for value with brawl and revenge

in the past getting to legend with control warrior wasn't a problem, even when it was hunter meta, secret pali meta, face shaman meta.. but I am struggling so hard with this mid shaman

There is no counter except Freeze Mage
But freeze mage loses to other decks

It's an overpowered deck

I don't like control warrior on ladder as much as I did a month ago. Too many secret hunters and malygos rogues which are bad matchups, and even shaman isn't great.

Heavy control decks are better against very proactive//very agro decks
So you would have had an easier time with them (Face hunter, aggro sham etc) vs the current 'Midrange' variation of shaman.

This shaman deck is more like a midrange hunter to your Control warrior/cthun warrior - A bad matchup in the past for the warrior... I imagine the current Mid-Range shaman is out to farm warrior a bit.

Secret pally too was extremely agro.. + You wouldn't of had cthun back then.. + Patron was just a great matchup vs secret pally.. or warrior in general w/e

Wait for early December.

I like playing control Paladin. Takes care of shaman most of the time. Just has issues with things like Malygos druid, or other decks that ramp into a combo-esque state.

In card games, a midrange deck can be control in some matches and aggro in others.

For shaman, if they play aggressive with a t1 trogg t2 golemn, they have less pressure mid to late game.

On the flip side, they can save their spirits and troggs for a safer game towards the end.

You have to decide early on what they're doing in the game and commit to exploiting their plan.
