I thought it would be very helpful to have a thread where people can post things related to competitive Hearthstone.
Things that this includes:- Guides
- Decklists
- Tournament Discussion
- Tips for playing well
Things that this does not include:- "Fun" decks that do well at rank 19
- Why "Competitive Hearthstone" is an oxymoron
- Which deck is the current cancer
- Crying about RNG
Here's a few helpful resources:A guide a recently read through was all about how to effectively practice hearthstone to improve as a player, either as a new player or an older player experiencing a plateau.
https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveHS/comments/54h7zf/how_to_practice_hearthstone_the_guide/To summarize, the author's main points were:
1) Hearthstone is game of making connections between board states and how you and your opponent will react to them
2) "Skill" in Hearthstone revolves around being able to predict what your opponent will do for each possible play in order to make plays that they will not be able to answer
3) To practice effectively, we have to target one area of our game that needs work, e.g. predicting an opponent's turns 1-4 or making assumptions about what cards are in their deck, and focus on improving that.
4) To improve the focus area, we should do a combination of learning from our previous practice sessions, watching the top players and see if we make similar decisions, and then play games to get first-hand practice.
Hopefully this thread can help both new, and experienced players.
