doesn't reward the pack if you do it with a friend, really retarded set up

I could see if they didn't reward a pack for 1v1 friend tavern brawl since someone can just concede... but in the case where you have to work together and beat a boss they absolutely have to reward a pack

Easier to do with pugs than the other boss one though.

Why not just play together after you win your weekly pack?

that way you can play together instead of bitching on JSP about how you can't win that pack you already won
