I understand you can only have 1 of each legendary card in a deck, but if you copy it during play does it destroy both the original and the copy?

I haven't been keeping up with MTG as much lately but i think i like the newest version of their legendary rule the best. (one per player is fine instead of them getting TKO'd)

It makes for better play, but flavor-wise I don't like it.
