I was wondering what you guys think of Control Priest, I saw a couple posts on Competitive Hearthstone Reddit page and made me think.
Hey everyone, I just say a CW stats post and figured I would share a bit of my stats. I did start keeping stats till rank 13, about a week or so out from end of season.
My stats are as follows:
tempo mage: 1-1 zoolock 3-2 renolock 0-1 aggro shaman 1-0 dragon priest 3-3 control warrior 2-0 face hunter 2-0 secret/midrange paladin 4-1 midrange hunter 1-0 murloc paladin 0-1 aggro mech priest 0-1 ramp druid 0-1
I did change the deck ever so slightly. I started with the deck list that someone posted a bit ago with a Control Priest decklist. But then I read stoneforge (I think his name is) article about building your own control priest deck and so I did. I tried using Kolento's priest deck back when he has the grand crusader which did have some nice 2:1 plays but it really isn't as versatile as I want. After reading the article about building your own Control Priest the big difference is what I had 2 entombs with elise and you don't need that. So I ditched one entomb and tried some other stuff.
So at the end of this season I ended at rank 9 (2 stars). with my current decklist: (best rank I have ever done)
2 circle of healing 2 flash heal (I love the aggro option with soulpriest) 2 power word: shield 2 northshire cleric 2 zombie chow 2 museum curators (fave) 2 wild pyromancers 1 shadow word: death 1 thoughtsteal (awesome when you get some removal cards) 2 velen's chosen 2 deathlords 2 auchenai soulpriests 1 elise starseeker 1 holy nova 1 sludge belcher 1 entomb 2 lightbomb 1 cabal shadowpriest 1 justicar trueheart
I think this is a really good list, I think the only arguable points are Justicar (which is addressed in stonekeep(?)'s article). thoughtsteal im still not sure if this is the best option. velens is really helpful but a pain when you don't have a target. sludge I found very useful as an anti aggro card
notable absence: holy champion. I did use her a bit and I really thought she was a good 4 drop that put pressure on a lot of decks that just couldn't deal with her. anyone else use her as a good option? Harrison Jones or the weapon destroying 2 drop. I did run the latter but it wasn't that useful and having Harrison could screw you over against renolock with jax and potentially aggro shaman. didn't really need the anti weapon card it seemed.
So for the Hogger season I have decided to challenge myself with a "standard" viable decklist. Obviously speculations about card releasing is useless but I just figured I would try and get used to some other options out there. I also went when dragon priest orientated list. Let me know if you guys would be making any differences and if I am cheating with any soon to be removed cards. and what you think of the stats that I collected!

What do you guys think and maybe putting in justicar somewhere.
