ok, so someone convinced me to d/l this, i got mage to level 10, i beat the first 5 tutorial things, unlocked each class, won 3 games in play mode etc etc.


i got like 300 gold or something? i spent it all on these card packs, and i have no idea what i unlocked really.


I think id like to just learn mage and at least make a mage deck before i go back to league.


How do i best go about doing that? for instance ive seen "annoy-a-tron" "faerie-something"

both seemed like good cards, but i cant find them in the search bar, you dont unlock them on the way to 10, and the little packs u buy for 100 gold seem to only have class specifici cards in them, and the cards im looking for i dont think are class specific


anyway was hoping someone could link me to a good guide for people starting, ive watched quite a few youtube videos and read quite a few faq's, but they havnt been great at giving me a good picture, its mosty just "tempo/trading/control/deckselectin" in ever single one.

tempo/trading/control/deckbuilding is pretty much everything in hearthstone i don't really know what more you want to know lol

card packs don't contain only class specific cards. a pack of cards is 5 cards from the particular set you bought (classic or one of the 2 expansions) with at least 1 card being rare or better but can be more then that i.e. you can get a pack with 1 legendary 2 epics 1 rare 1 common or whatever its completely random besides at least 1 card being rare or better.

until you unlock many more cards to make a netdeck you will only have access to the basic cards you unlocked from leveling a class to level 10. I will put a link at the bottom of this post that is a thread with deck lists for each class using only basic cards. once you unlock more cards you can make a budget mech mage or some other mage deck but that will take a while unless you plan on dumping some cash into card packs.

Where im getting lost is that i dont know every card, and i dont know how to get the ones i dont have

its just a random thing ? lets say i want to make this freeze mage deck, how do I go about getting the cards? I get my 100 gold a day or whatever from the quests or i throw some cash at it, and i buy these packs of cards for 100 gold each, i get 5 cards, and i hope i get the right one?


also let me ask another question. Lets say i have 500 gold, I should just be spending that on packs as a begginer right? theres no danger in that?

if i could turn back clock id spend rewards on xpac wings now all i get is triples of cards i got
dont buy classic card sets cuz your gaurenteed a pack from tavern brawl or spectate so u know u get a free pack a week or more of classic

i will buy expack packs then i guess, good info. I jus tnoticed i have 2x of alot of cards but, "spiteful smith" i only have one of, what gives? Its a neutral card, should i just get 2?


i think i just want to find a fun deck to play, and then build it, but i mean if its really just random how you get the cards, does it even matter? I mean i start with the basic cards and the ones you get for levleing to 10, then I just have to get the 4 or 5 that are left, and those just come from repeatedly spending 100 gold on these packs? and the crap you dont want in the packs you turn into "dust" then make the cards you want? obviously i wouldnt do that unless i have 3 of the card but at that point you should just disenchat them right?

You don't have 2 of that card because that's a card that you can only get from packs or by crafting, you opened one in a pack just because it's a neutral you don't automatically get 2 of them.

Yes you're correct, you disenchant the cards you don't want from opening packs into dust and then use that dust to create the cards that you want to use in your deck rather than having to wait and hope you open it in a pack. Also, you can only play a max of 2 of the same card in your deck (unless it's arena but that's different) so you should always disenchant if you have more then 2 of a card.

It was out of meta when you started building it.

Don't make new players think something that isn't true because you are dumb. Tempo mage is still strong.
