Any tips and suggestions for someone literally 5 minutes in ?

Do not disenchant / enchant anything yet until you start understanding how the cards work.

First time you click the arena button, the innkeeper spots you the gold needed to enter, so you get a free run. Do some research and practice games first before you use the free arena though.

There's also quite a few relatively easy achievements you can do right off the bat for gold. Check google for those.

And be patient. Unless you're willing to spend real money on cards or adventures or spend many, many hours playing, deck progression is kind of painfully slow.

I recommend playing every class to lvl 10 .. figure out 3 classes you enjoy most.. Try to understand what there cards do and how there hero power can turn games..

Watch these, no joke. As much fun as I make of Trump, he's a really smart player. If you want to get good at the game, take the time to learn. Especially if you plan on spending money later.

play as many games as possible
and accept the fact, that some games are unwinnable, even if you play perfectely

Lies. Turn 4 fireball to your own face is a cheat code. Totes works.
