And this is where the cost is only
1 life instead of 3 mana! Obviously it needs to be adjusted for a 30 card deck for Hearthstone since going from 30 to 29 cards is a bigger jump than 60 to 59 but the general idea remains true.
This is all on top of the fact that the card costs fucking 3 mana.
Srsly, stop overrated deck thinning. This discussion has already been had thousands of times among professional MTG players and the consensus is that cards used exclusively for deck thinning have an extremely marginal benefit.

Mad scientist could be "Deathrattle: Put a
copy of a secret card from your deck into play" and it would be almost exactly as good, despite having NO deck thinning effect.
