My buddy asked me the other day why I always play the card I top decked even if I already had a copy in hand.
I told him it tilts people and he didn't really believe me.

So basically, thanks for proving me right. :p

you're supposed to

so you don't give away the information that you are holding that card

:( arena

1-3 as mage

then 1-3 as druid

Picked the best possible cards as Druid, couldn't do any better. Several choices where the best card was terrible, and 2 others unplayable.

I'm finding the picks are really random. I'll get 5 choices in a row that have like the 1/4 deal 2 damage randomly card as the best pick... because the alternatives aren't usable (0/3 bot, etc). Can't remember names of the crap cards.

Out of the last 15 arena entries, only about 4 have been decent/fun. :-/

Will probably try a couple times more, then just save gold for next xpac.

That's the opposite of what you should do.

You want to use the card you've been holding because your opponent has the most information on that card (e.g. how many turns you've had it, what situations you chose not to/couldn't play it). A recently drawn card the opponent is much less likely to have a read on.

Using the topdecked card to tilt can be effective but in general you want to choose the card that you've had longest.

you're supposed to play the top decked card, then from left to right imo

This.
If you play the top deck because they'll think you don't have another and just got lucky. But if it's not a top deck then you want to dump what you've had the longest.

The reality is it could go either way. Both arguments could be justified imo.

Yep this is my last fucking arena run...

First pick: N'Zoth.

Awesome! I'll take some deathrattles, my late game will be decent.

Guess how many deathrattles ended up in my deck? 1. The fucking 2/2 1-cost healer. That's it. There was only 1 possible additional deathrattle I could've taken, but it was the 2/3 taunt and there was a better alternative pick.

Ended up with 6 Tidal Surges in the deck lol. Picks were so forced :(
