Yeh that's true. Though, best of three matches, multiple mulligans, bigger starting hands, and more deck control I think make up for that. In HS you have consistent mana, but deck control is more volatile as search cards aren't a priority to the dev team (probably because combos don't really exist much to need search cards). In mtg you can run one-of cards in a 60 card deck, but have 6 other cards that can pull it, so you have a lot of play options.
Land is what keeps rush decks in check in mtg.
I also like that in mtg, ramping lands doesn't get punished with a land cap. Gem cap hurting Druid so hard in the meta.
