people test decks when new expansion comes out.. and then best deck comes out of it.. and they become the META.

Meta is the most effective deck in the current ecosystem of decks

Metagames can change constantly because as one deck becomes stronger in the ecosystem, its counters also become stronger.

When the metagame stops changing is when you see that a deck is likely too strong because its counters aren't strong enough to also make an impact on the rest of the ecosystem (like playing a 100% purely defensive deck to counter a meta face deck.. It will just lose to everything else and won't break into meta)

They weren't given much to go around / kill taunts
And most of their cards are 1 hp (aside from the 3/2 raptors)

So tar creeper and whirlwind/pyromancer type cards can probably shut them down

broke down and pre-ordered the 50 packs
i had 1500 saved for arena runs which would have netted me at least 10 packs
but then I really wanted to do arena runs and there are still some legendaries I wanted to get from Gadgetzan
so I figured just buying the 50 packs and spending my current gold on arena would be ok.

hope to get some of that good good from my packs. I cant wait!
I have off the day ungoro is released.


going to be really upset when curator is rotated out. i have been experimenting with a few decks using the curator and I really like the card.

what makes things popular is 1 person who the community looks up to does it with success so everyone immediately band wagons

It means most people will things this way and no other way.

rant time - my favorite examples

Ana released on Overwatch. Ana is shit , ana is shit, ana is shit. OMG someone actually figured out how to play her and started using her as a healer. All of a sudden ana is the best healer in the game and needs nerfs.


Pantheon a few seasons ago on League of Legends. People would snap if you were playing pantheon (season 2 i think). Saying its a troll pick, bad pick, etc
not a single fucking thing was changed on pantheon or item wise for him, but 1 pro picked him up.
All of a sudden pantheon is flavor of the month and the nerf hammer comes a few weeks later.


The NFL (national football league) QB's need to throw the ball and stay in the pocket it was basically a fucking rule (not really but people acted like it)
Along comes some people like Michael Vick.. WTF?!?!??!? QB's CAN RUN THE BALL AND DOMINATE THE FIELD DONIG IT?!?!??!?!
Now QB's that can throw and run are becoming heavily favored.

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of how meta affects a card game such as hearthstone.

Hearthstone is about anticipating applicable meta (meta at your rank or in your tournament) and selecting cards and decks that have the best chance against that meta.

You're talking about choices that one can make in skill based games. This game, hs, is almost purely about meta anticipation once it's pro vs pro.

yea i do agree meta rules and meta game is different in hearthstone with set cards and stats compared to a skill based shooter, moba , etc
the fact remains meta is what is common practice
meta is what most of the people follow

but in a game like this playing anti meta is even more important
example that face hunter deck i was using isnt meta
hell many people say hunter sucks, but it was anti meta and worked great


now ofc being that its not a mostly skill based game unbalanced cards / decks will remain meta and strong even w anti meta (pirate warrior , mid shaman)


the whole rant is because i dont want to here meta this meta that
leeroy is without a doubt a staple card for aggro decks and some dude was like nah leeroy shit cause not meta
