That's just the patch with all the nerfs to bucaneer, spirit claws, etc. and adding the ranked floors

Oh yeah you right

That's just because of its mana cost, not because of the quality of the card. There are plenty of viable two drops, as it's literally the most flexible card slot in the game.

For 5 drops you have... azure drake and.... azure drake

Yeah, which is part of why Azure Drake is better.

Cards don't exist in a vacuum, choosing one subjects you to an opportunity cost.

let's not forget the fact that it's a dragon, which makes it almost an auto include in all the dragon decks.

in the past the two cards have kind of gone hand in hand... typically if a deck wants to run azure drakes.. thalnos often finds a spot.

theres just so many strong class cards in the lower mana slots that are pushing him out a bit I guess..

Looks good right now, but you know Blizzard is going to mess it up just as Diablo3. They should hire experts from MTG to do this correctly.

Not usually. Drake is in vastly more decks than Thalnos.

must have missed this part I guess.
And yeah in the past, the two went hand in hand..
The pair are often run together in tempo mage
There was a point in time where patron warrior ran thalnos
very early on thalnos was played in handlock
Original miracle rogue.. -- only reason he's not in there now is because of patches. imo it'll like make a return.
Oil rogue
occasion druid deck
Lol cmonbruh thalnos has been almost equally as popular of a card. Azure drake being rare.. sure it gets run more.
Freezemage runs thalnos and no drakes?
for every deck you give me that has azure drake as a staple, I can probably give you a deck where thalnos fit in as well. ;) sorry m8

so... yes. usually. They have nearly identical effects.. pretty dumb to think thatthalnos wouldn't more often then not fit into the same deck as drakes :/
or are you new? like froggyg

To top it all off... Can you guess what card people will be gravitating towards when azure drake is phased out? heh

I didn't miss anything lol, my original point that I've made previously in this thread is that the lack of other good 5 options was part of what make Drake good. Must have missed that part.

In any case I was responding to the first line of your post.
