But Arcane Intellect could not be one of your most powerful cards because you're already playing those regardless. So while Arcane Intellect can possibly turn into your best card and 2nd best card, whatever you would replace it with would certainly be your worst card.

It's played because it draws you a card, not because it thins your deck.

Yeah I'm a troll because you can't wrap your head around a simple concept.

The card is not used for deck thinning, period, the deck thinning effect of it is an extremely small bonus. 3 mana for a marginally thinner deck is not a good tradeoff.

Thinning the deck definitely helps though.
Last thing you want is Alex to be the last card and not get there until turn 25.

Yes deck thinning is a benefit, but people are exaggerating how much different a 30 vs 29 card deck is. It's not really a very substantial statistical difference, and it's certainly not worth using 3 mana to get it (flare for example costs only 1 mana and has an incredibly powerful effect in addition to the deck thinning and it's virtually never played)

it's never played because its cost was nerfed to 2 mana
i was using two flares when it was only 1 mana ^^
