That's a shame. It's basically blizzard saying "We don't care if you guys like the main competitive play mode, we want it to be different so we are going to change it."

League of Legends completely changed the meta just before the championship tournament and NOBODY was happy about it.

Based on wild mode not giving blizzcon points.

For example: sc2 is played competitively on its most current patches.. - same for wow, or most popular competitive scenes.

Again this change is a mimic of mtg essentially.. You can use this as an example also. Older formats excluded from most tournaments. :/. Blizzard last time i checked wasnt a no profit organization afterall..

I just don't get it. All over the forums you see things like "nerf Mysterious Challenger" or "nerf Force of Nature + Savage Roar" and blizzard is just like "LOL NEW FORMAT". I don't think any of the Hearthstone playerbase actually wanted a new format.

I've been wanting a new format for a long time.

I'd really like some card balance too though. That's like 50x easier than releasing a format. Just take away 1 attack/defense/damage of effect of a strong minion on each patch until it's balanced.
