I might be totally wrong here, but for me it totally sux. Future should prove me wrong with the rest of the expansion i think, but warlock quest isnt very good for me, because:
brings imps when you either alrdy lost or won the game, the golem is the only card you are happy to discard, malchezar imp helps u lose less value.
Doomguard has a direct impact on the board, and even with that, you tend to accept the loss of keys cards to win. Soulfire is the same deal / saves u an important tempo early.
That taunt kills your option without helping you win, you can't ever play it on turn 4 unless u are desperate to live, it discard doomguard, ad for what? spamming 2 imps a turn, after turn 8.
In a zoo, you are too ahead or too behind already, in a control deck, you don't want to discard key cards. So for this card and quest to stand a chance, imo, you need a new archetyp (demon based) that has enough early potential to survive pirate warriors, fast enough to not suffer from the discards against control, and somehow beat midrange shaman.... ?_? I don't see it happening, but there are about 100 other cards coming, so let's see. Azure drake cut will hurt midrange decks, so it could help such demonlock
