Not even mad about what just happened in my arena game. I wish I was recording because it easily would have ended up on one of those Youtube channels that highlight crazy plays.


I was on Pally, opponent on Hunter.

I finished my turn with opponent on 9 health remaining and me on 12.



My board was:

9/7 Kraken -- 3/1 Scarlet (with shield still) -- 2/2 argent protector -- 3/3 Earthen Ring. To end my turn I made another 1/1 guy to make sure I still had 9 on the chance he managed to kill my Kraken.


His board was:

1/2 Undertaker -- 1/1 Spectral spider -- 2/2 Spectral spider (with hat buff)


Both were top decking.


My button press at the end of my turn activated his Dart Trap. The 5 damage avoided all 5 of my minions and hit my face to leave me on 7 life. So I was still 1 off lethal for him with the 4 on board + 2 Hero power. He top decked Animal Companion and spawned a Huffer to win.


I wonder what the odds on that series of events was. Me feeling the need to press button to help with backup lethal. Him having his Dart Trap instead of Snake Trap. It hitting my face @ 1/6 oddss 1/6. Top decking an Animal Companion and then having the Companion spawn Huffer.

Tell that to MR. RNG.

If it was explosive trap and he rolled either Huffer or Leokk he still would have prevented lethal from you. Too lazy to type it all out so let me know if you don't see it and I'll explain ;P

Oh I should have mentioned, I knew it wasn't explosive because the 2-3 turns prior he had 2 secrets on his side. I held back attacking with my Kraken because I didn't want to get it Freezing Trapped, the next turn I hit with my Scarlet crusader to get her Freezing trapped, then hit again with my Kraken and nothing proc'd. So I figured it was most likely Snakes because I typically see way more snake traps than Darts.

Was just a hot mess of RnG all over my face

Gotcha. Still a weird spot. Even if he managed to get your Kraken you were still in a better spot without hero powering imo. If the dart hits anything you were boned. If you think about it, he gets immense trading value from the hat.

dart trap is a common from the newest expansion, which means it has higher chance to be proposed on drafts
you should have played around it, the odd of you dying after this missplay are very high in top deck mode against hunt ; the only part that is unlikely is the fact that the trap hit your face ^^

Summoning Stones Priest is actually pretty decent.
