Why do people keep saying this? Do any of you actually play ranked?

That's because it's true.. First year and a half it would be correct to do favorable trades and control the board. Nowdays it's more correct to just go face if you control the board lol

I am 100% sure I play more ranked than you, I got legend day 5 this month.

Maybe the EU and NA meta are different, but in EU almost everybody plays aggro. If the meta are similair, try playing a whole half day and not just your dailies, and enjoy pala secret, face hunter "tempo" mage and cursed druid 8 out of 10 games ;).

edit:

tempo mage is a face aggro deck, it only takes very advantaging trades and relay on random 2 damages per spells to "clear" or get face damages faster. A deck that kills, or dies, before the turn 8 almost every game is aggro.

Ah yeah perhaps it's just an EU thing.

On NA there is a reasonable amount of aggro but it certainly isn't suffocating.

And no, Tempo Mage is a tempo deck, not an aggro deck. It has loads of late game power.

I feel like people complain about tempo based decks (which is a majority of the meta atm) because they are too focused on card advantage, which is only one aspect of the game. Decks that push tempo with early threats are arguably the most essential decks in any card game, and are not aggro which is an entirely different archetype.

Face hunter is aggro. Aggro druid is aggro. Tempo mage is not. Secret paladin is not (except the leper gnome version).

because having boom and antonidas makes it not aggro?^^

I am going to play tempo hunter. it is like a face hunter, but with boom and 1 highmane.

Tempo mage is NOT focused on card advantage, it pukes its hand with flamewaker on board, you brawl it once and it concedes. It has 2 drake and 1/2 arcane intellect, boom antonidas (1 sherp sometimes). Everything else (22-23 cards) is going full face.

Tempo means you play cards to gain advantaged in time and mana, like rogue sapping you. The only tempo in this mage deck is that your games are so short that u get 100 gold faster in your day.
