Hell, look at Varian Wrynn. It's a 7/7 for 10 mana that draws 3 cards which may have a chance to be instantly played. Except they don't get any Battle cry effects. Granted, there are arguments in terms of value but I have a pretty shit opinion on Varian

I basically took the standard Freeze mage list and took -1 Loot Hoarder, -1 Acolyte -1 Blizzard and took Cone, Healbot and Duplicate

Duplicate is rarely played around. Ice Block isn't proceed until it matters so they usually assume it's block not duplicate. Also, our duplicate targets aren't that bad. It's typically meant for Thaurissan/Healbot/Doomsayers

So far I've enjoyed having Duplicate over 1 extra card draw.

Also, it's actually won games from mind games alone. I think it plays off as I'm one of the echo giants mage
