Are you going to play HS for free? Then you should never play Ranked past rank 20: If you are completely new to Hearthstone and you have hardly aquired any cards.
Because you are most likely not going to get Rank15 which is the 1st "real" breakpoint and the difference between rank 20 and 16 is merely 20 dust. Instead you should focus on the casual part where it's actualy quite simple to make gold. Playing this game for free is not as troublesome as Kripparian makes it, if you know all the tricks.

precisely.. you can just play casual all the time..

and if you get to win too much games and get to play vs good players, just concede a bunch of games and it will lower your casual MMR and put you vs noobs

either that or farm at rank 20

but rank 20 can be dangerous.. last 3 ppl I added from rank 20 in wild were rank 5, 7 and 9 in standard. So good luck to the real rank 20's.

craft patches add some pirates and you can get rank 10 in month if you are new. Around 2,5k dust needed. on a topic if you play face decks craft leeroy if you like mage and warlock priest craft kazakus .

Ladder is fun. There's competition. And you get to play what you want when you have enough cards.

Grinding to earn cards would be a chore. You'd be playing shit decks and there'd be no competition. You'd just be on there to get your +1 for the day.
