The only reason you are trolling is because you were made to look like a fool. You basically had 3 options.
1. Pretend/say you didn't know there was a mega-thread, apologize and thank you.
2. Don't even reply.
3. Argue back/troll
Obviously 1 & 2 would go against your pride. Not many people have the balls to do #1 even though it's the best way to go about things in life, leaving #3 as the only option.
