or just make war axe able to only hit minions

That's an interesting idea but they explained they don't want to make basic cards too complex which I think is fair.

there are atleast 5 different cards that remove weapons, so why did they nerf war axe?

Weapons have charge and get value before being removed, and weapon removal is typically saved for Reaper or upgraded weapons in the case of Pirate Warrior.

Ice Block can be removed the turn you kill your opponent before it ever procs.

i like how you try to defend blizzard on this topic (because the majority is obviously against them), but come on, "too complex", even an ape could understand the complexity of the sentence "can only hit minions"
multi shot only hits minions, consec hits minions + hero, mind blast only hits hero, backstab only hits undammaged minions (holy shit so many braincells lost for new players)

you can also destroy a weapon before it gets used, if the pirate warrior decide to play a new one after he used his last charge to gain tempo or simply to get bigger upgrade damage
its just plain stupid to say a card that lowers the quality of your deck against every other matchups is a good way to counter a broken card

honestly, i dont really care about those nerfs, i dont like playing warrior, i dont like playing shaman, aggro druid is probably the deck ive played the most (probably over 1000 ranked wins) but innervate is a broken card, i just wish they changed them, not butchered

That's true.

Maybe something like make Southsea Captain (the card with the highest win rate in the deck other than Patches, that's also played in the majority of Pirate Warriors) either +1 attack or +1 health instead of +1/+1.

I hate southsea captain because of how it buffs health and fucks up my plans to remove minions. If it were just "pirates get +1 attack" I'd be fine with it.

It's not about being too complicated to understand, it's about having the default cards be vanilla as an introduction to the game for new players.

You should care about all buffs and nerfs if you care about the development of the game
Every poorly done change says a lot about the design team

Now Blizzard has made some dumb decisions but people always think they know better and usually don't. Like when Lifecoach ragequit the game because the Hunter quest was going to be too OP.

Blizzard have great data and a team of expert designers and a vision for the game and most importantly know what cards are going to be released in the future how current cards will affect those. They know what they're doing.

Hearthstone is a very fast card game. Losing even a single turn loses you the game. The problem with cards like ooze is that they lose you the game against other decks due to weak turns.

Games like MTG are much slower, and you have many more options in your hand at any time due to slower starts and less reliance on tempo. It's not uncommon to simply pass a turn while it is in Hearthstone unless you have a board clear next turn. These cards have more room in MTG, especially because you can pull them out of your deck.

In Hearthstone, a deck has to be truly overwhelming for these counter cards to make it into decks.
It's a flaw in the design of the game.

You saying they know what they're doing... is that not you just thinking you know better?
They wouldn't butcher cards into total uselessness if they knew what they were doing. They would be able to balance them at least into niche uses.

Millions of people have better brainstorming power than a 5 man dev team. When the dev team picks "charge minions gain +1 attack" it's obvious they're just stupid.

the dev team is stupid and they hardly listen to the community, so i dont really give a shit, that wont change anything anyway and hearthstone is bound to die out in the next years with the decisions they fail to do over and over
