I think around 4 wins is breaking even.
Not sure though.. it's just what I feel is a fair trade for 150 gold. Usually a pack (100) and 30-50 gold with some dust or a card.
I do have heartharena but I don't follow it 100%
I found that following hearth arena I was frequently drafting attrition type decks and they are my least favorite to play
also my 8 win rogue was without hearth arena.
I actually drafted that rogue after staring at one of kripps drafts. I noticed a key difference in his drafts compared to mine.
He had maybe 4-5 1 cost cards and 4-5 2 cost cards in what seemed like a curvestone deck. I usually have that many 2 cost cards, but it isn't often that I have more than 1 1 cost card that is not a spell.
I do use a deck tracker. It is extremely useful.
What guys do you think are the best classes for arena?
I really thought paladin would be good but I don't even want to try again.
4 wins is breaking even in the sense that you generally get at least 50gold back and a pack, but what I meant about "net losses" is that you can't play infinite arenas. This is a problem at 4 wins, youll eventually run out of gold if you are planning on doing more than 1 arena a day.
Id say around 6.5+ the arena runs can go infinite without the help of quest gold. At around 6 - 6.5 you might be able to do multiple arenas a day with the help of quests. For example, I had a little less than 1500 gold a week ago, since then Ive played about 10 arenas and I have over 1700 gold now. At this rate I can continue doing this without a problem.
As for heartharena, Its definitely a good tool, but I dont follow it to the letter either. Some picks are so close that just having the app give you a suggestion is really useful. After you finish you can observe your w/l ratio which i find useful.
Right now mage is statistically the best for me by far. Kripp did a video on this a little bit ago confirming this.
Rogue is generally pretty good for me too, but I think it is one of the hardest classes to play with since its so fragile - trading life totals for tempo can get you easily killed against mages or hunters or even warlocks with lots burst.
I would say in general from my experience the best classes in arena at the moment are:
1) Mage
2) Rogue
3) Hunter and Shaman
4) Paladin and Priest
5) Warlock and Druid
6) Warrior
Kripp's "curvestone" analysis is pretty accurate. Going second is a huge disadvantage at higher win ratios for all classes, but it hurts some more than others. For me mage and rogue are least effected, warlock, priest, and warrior suffer are at a much bigger disadvantage.
For me overall its 60.53% win with the coin, 76.54% win without it in the last week for a ratio of 6.25.
