I know this would cause controversies. Forgot to add the imo.
I haven't played all the CCGs out there and I know I might have missed some great since they are not capable of advertising the game as well as blizz does.

I still feel the best when playing HS compared to the others.
Maybe I'm just too casual for the rest, idk

I got bored of Hearthstone
The game is extremely static in playstyles

It's just playing power cards on a curve with very little thought.
Combo decks are nonexistent for the most part and there's very little interaction.

Legends is what I wish Hearthstone could be.
And Eternal is more like MTG.

Hearthstone style favors the attacker.
MTG style favors the defender.

So those are the two I play.

i wouldn't play a game i consider the 7th best of a category

Why not? Best doesn't automatically mean most fun. :p

People don't play better gsmes mainly cus the game isn't established yet and they don't have any investment yet

Like dota 2 is objectively a better game than league, but it came around after league did and thus people have more of an investment in league, whether it be time or money.

Same with hs. Eternal may be a better game but it's so new and not many people play it atm.

How do you figure Dota 2 is objectively better?
I actually consider it the opposite

Dota looks bad. It feels clunky. Abilities/movement is slower. It's not friendly to newbs at all so it can't attract a stronger player base.
Yet both games have similar skill caps. At the highest level they are very similar in difficulty. Relatively poor game design.

Eternal is a different type of game.
Hearthstone is attack focused.
MTG rule games are defend focused (defender decides what trading is done)

Problem with most of these games is the grind or the cost, or both. Secondary to that is the game itself: How fun it is, depth, ongoing support, content updates, etc.

I would ditch hearthstone if a card game came out that guarantees:

- A one time or annual fee
- Access to all cards at no cost, requiring some gameplay possibly but not grind focused (foil cards could be extra, similar to an overwatch microtransaction model)
- All of the good stuff: Depth, ongoing support, content updates, ladder, innovative ideas through card balancing & new cards & ladder formats & ladder structure.

All these card games that milk cash (or force a lot of grinding) can be fun, but long term it's like a bad relationship that eventually leaves a sour taste; you say you won't make the same mistake again but you do.

A card game that doesn't charge for cards wouldn't have issues with power creep in the same way other card games can (card games have to do power creep or manipulate relevant current cards to stimulate sales). In MTG they deal with power creep in a funny way, by putting such a huge focus on standard rotation and carefully releasing some bomb cards that are often 'discovered' later for other formats. In Hearthstone they deal with power creep by putting all the focus on standard rotation, and not giving a shit about wild (so power creep never is an issue since the card pool is so small... players are forced to keep up because their card options are super limited - even though wild cards do what standard cards do, it's just an adding and subtracting game for retards & I play it). In yugioh... that game sucks. It relies on power creep solely to drive sales (but the game itself has potential just in terms of rules and mechanics, and some of the cards actually are really interesting but useless in comparison to OP stuff).

I enjoy any game that requires grinding.
Cheaters, hackers, glitches, etc turn me off of games very bad.

I was putting hours into GTA 5 every week just grinding money to get a bunch of cool stuff until a hacker dropped 20 mil on me.
I knew it would ruin the game for me and it did :(

botting on d2.
botting on runescape

all the same stories.

damn i wish everyone on runescape was legit.. i would def play again.

Vouch. I kind of find it hard to play more than 30 minutes at a time now.

Let me clarify
I dont enjoy that grind. It's an unfair system. I can't vs certain decks because I don't own the cards that can counter them.
If I was restricted to playing vs people who had around the same amount of card collection as me it would be different.
I find playing against the same decks / meta to be stupid as fuck

I enjoy unlocking things
Not tediously competing for a ladder spot.

The slow leveling up in runescape to make better and better money through a number of things.. was fun
