But if you're good at arena you get more gold than you use, plus get cards. Plus you're on equal footing with all cards being avaliable.

Pretty big if for a new player

less than 9% of all arena runs end in 7 or more wins. you need at least that much just to break even, and then on top of that get lucky with an additional gold reward.

You cant consistently just play arena all day long on an initial 150 gold unless you are really familiar with the game.

How is face decks strongest ?? Are you high as fuck ? There are many tier decks .. Agro decks alway been top tier cause you u can play 2-4 games per 1.. Worst meta was when cw and cw and fatigue Mage were top played decks ... People cried mass than everyone will find someone thing to whine about .. Everyone on This form knows I play cw 80% of time

CW is also what I play when I want to win

By strongest I mean in terms of climbing. Their win rate is high enough that you can climb with them AND have fast games, so the entire ladder is flooded with them. It's a shitty experience.

First, there are some decks that are cheaper than others. Some agro decks can be made for relatively cheap. You might have to skimp on some of the cards but that shouldnt necessarily be a problem getting to rank 20.

Second, the season recently reset. You are more likely to find experienced players with good decks around the level you are at. If you wait a week or two you will find its much easier to level up.

I do think the game is awkwardly put together though. It is definitely not new-player friendly. You essentially have 2 modes (solo and brawl) which are boring, and youre left with play mode which like you said requires you to pay to win, and arena which requires you to pay to play.

Its broken. I really wish blizzard made an arena variant with no prizes that you could enter for free, because it is by far the most fun to play for people without insane decks.

But such is the reality with blizzard, they do love making pay to win games.

I don't think Blizzard has ever released a pay to win game...
And this is included.
Plenty of people on this forum are free to play and still have any deck they want.
Hearthstone is more like... "pay to catch up"

Pay to win means that if you pay money you will have an advantage over other people that do not (or pay less)

You mean besides diablo 2 and diablo 3 (up until they killed the auction house)?

Hearthstone is shamelessly pay to win... i dont know what youre talking about

How is Diablo 2 pay to win when there was no in game option to pay money for anything?
How is Diablo 3 pay to win when there isn't even PvP?
How is Hearthstone pay to win when numerous free to play players have way more cards than many paying players?

d2 - i suppose not a good example, youre right. blizzard where not the ones that profited from paying for gear. but youre wrong in the respect that simply having no option to pay for something ingame prevented p2w. it created an easily accessable d2 gear market that made the game p2w.
d3 - learning from their mistakes, they implemented the ah, this is most certainly p2w. pvp is irrelevant.

Oh you want those new expansion cards? Pay me 20 dollars for a worthless mission and access to 45 cards.

I see you arent doing well in constructed... would you like to pay me 1 dollar per pack or spend a day earning it?

No one wants to take extra 10 hours to reach legend .. I don't get your view

yes so

10 gold per 3 games won.

lets say you are a novice and only win 50% of all games you play

you end up playing 6 games for 10 gold

you need 60 games for one pack

each game takes 5-15 minutes

You can factor in quests which award you on average 50 gold per day

At best you earn a pack after 2.5 hours, at worst 7.5 hours. After your first pack and quest is complete you revert back to 5-15 hours per pack.

Or you could just get a minimum wage job, earn $7.25 per hour and get an average of 72 times more packs per day from that.

Yep.

IF you are consistently good in arena, you can make it work, but the vast majority of people do not have 7+ arena win averages.

But you're not paying to win because Diablo 3 has no winning in it. You just keep going.
If it had PvP you would get to win over other people in PvP.

As for those expansions... I get enough gold just doing quests to buy every expansion and get enough packs in every single new set.
I don't play arena and I don't play more than 10 games a day.
