Not to pay to win.
Pay to get started though, or a lot of time.
You might not be able to do some decks, but there are lots of competitive decks that have 1 legendary or less.
Some people are just mad that they can't win arena to get cards faster.
Also it's a free game.
You should expect to pay at least $50 for any game you play if you want to be competitive in it.
Pay to win games are ones where the more money you spend you always get more of an advantage.
In Hearthstone you just pay the entrance fee to be competitive and then you never need to spend again.
A game like Archeage you can literally spend $20,000 and not be max gear.
THIS FINALLLY. People who think hearthstone is pay2win have never played a game where it's REALLY p2w. In stronghold, at the very top level, the game is run by people who are essentially millionaires. People who will dump 1k in a DAY for temporary boosts that don't last that long. You ain't seen shit playing hearthstone lol. I've watched someone blow 1.5k buying cards (cards are temp boosts, not like hearthstone cards) to reproduce + speed up his armies. By the end of thr day he had lost every village he gained. He had spent 1.5k irl and had shit to show for it... He didn't even care. Absolutely ridiculous lol.
