You just explained my point.
Why don't azure drakes get used in freeze mage? They aren't 2 mana spell power that can be dropped down with your combo. In some cases, you might use it for its card draw, but the card is part of the combo.
There's also a reason once upon a time freeze mage ran thalnos + Geomancer, to make sure they had the spell power they needed.
