Fireflys, pings, Aldors, Freezes, taunts, 1/1 dudes, Volcanos, etc
They're all just insta loss for the Hydra unless you can play it right on turn 5 and go all in

Ty Froggy saved me from linking them myself. People talking out their ass about stuff. I just came to reply to someones comment being nice and spreading some light on the subject lol. Most of the streamers and professional ranked players for arena ladder dislike it.

I also had 2 innervates. In like 3 or 4 of my games I was able to innervate hydra by turn 3.
One game I pulled innvervate, innervate, hydra and had 1st turn

its the opposite of a noob trap.
"oh man i dont want to take damage so i wont play this card" is a very typical noob instinct.
better players are capable of measuring the upside of cards like this and fel reaver.

Giving up a few points of health to gain a massive minion much earlier/cheaper than usual is well worth it in most arena situations.

the ability for a player to potentially deal 1 damage to the 8/8 hydra, even multiple times, does not mean you "instalose".
health is a resource and a rather large one.

damage and minions diverted to and killed by the hydra also mitigate the damage dealt to you.

small minions can be cleared by other means.
smashing down taunts with a much bigger body isnt a loss. an opponent having to freeze your huge undercosted minion isnt a loss. etc

First off I never even mentioned Kripp

Either way Kripp is literally the best arena player in NA lmao, he's been #1 on the monthly rankings of winrate like 3 times

That said, he's wrong about Bittertide Hydra, it's a pretty good card

But its downside is fucking enormous

It straight up insta-loses to certain cards (volcano, aldor/humility)
