Every other post on r/hearthstone has been about how diverse the meta is. Even Forbes wrote an article about how much better things are. Not trying to tell you how to live your life but it seems you're being hyper cynical about this online video game.

The set is trash.
The changes to the ranked system are why you see more 'diverse' decks.
I think you two aren't exactly arguing about the same thing here... Canadian man talking about a new 'base' set of cards, I don't think he plays enough to understand how the meta is in the current game. Also.. There are currently 3 distict 'metas'.. Complaining or even talking the meta up at this point feels stupid.
The set though, its fu cking garbage. Adapt and quests are not interesting mechanics/cards whatsoever. The game has lacked real creativity for a while.

honestly, i think the main problem is the game getting more and more polarized expansion after expansion
i mean, you take quest rogue and druid jade for example, but there is much more
its like impossible to lose with druid jade in a control match up late game
its like impossible to lose with quest rogue in a control match up early game

decks have always had counters of course, but skill was more involve, now its like a rock paper scisor game or a coinflip

also, ive been playing since s1, so i guess its a normal thing to get tired of it

jade is such a boring mechanic seriously, i was complaining about this even before its release
quests have potential, but having only 1/class isnt really appealing to me

That's not gain though, that's just healing.

Oh I understand now. Could have been better choice of words, but my fault either way. :p

The cards don't need changing imo. They'll always have expansions/nerfs to diversify and balance the meta decks/what not.

What needs to change : Dust/cards should be trade-able between players.

Yes, I know that Blizzard is too jew to implement this.

Some people simply stop playing the game b/c they don't enjoy the grind. In doing this they would become the #1 online card game.

They could also implement a fee for each trade so they can make their $ that way as well.

Too many people complain about the gameplay for trading to not be low priority
The RNG is the biggest complaint by far. They keep putting in "random spell" cards

The amount of money blizzard would lose on a 'trading' system would probably be too unrealistic to even consider..
Would be interesting for us that don't spend hundreds on packs, though..
either way, they need to shake the game up somehow.

And Trump is president.

#1 doesn't mean quality, thoughtful, intelligent, the best, or any of that. It just means #1.

I'll give you another analogy: D3 sold like a #1 game. But it certainly was not #1.
