keeping everything is best for brawls and in case wild becomes something in the future.

also for the PvM content

I feel pretty good after dusting the crap stuff that I have never used in wild, standard, or brawl... and that I have never liked. Stalag and feugen I did use, but an 11/11 that requires two guys to die is crap now.

Ok decided I'll probably dust my wild cards. Here's why:

100 gold = 1 pack

1 pack = 5 cards

Accounting for gold & non-gold cards based on statistics in dust amount:
1 duplicate common ~= 5.7 dust
1 duplicate rare ~= 24 dust
1 duplicate epic ~= 114 dust
1 duplicate leg ~= 486 dust

Non-duplicates are pretty straight forward:
commons = ignore
rares = ignore
1 epic = 114 or 400 dust (dust vs. keep)
1 leg = 486 or 1600 dust (dust vs. keep)

Adventures are every ~8 months.
Time between full xpacs have been a little odder. The first one was ~1 year from beta. Second was 11 months. Third 8. Fourth 8. And fifth was released just 4 months later. If we only count the recent years, that's ~7 months (rounded up) between full expansions.

Adventure = 700 x 4 wings = 2800 gold.
Xpac = 200 packs x 100 gold = 20,000 gold.

Gold needed per year for f2p = 2800/0.8 + 20000/0.7 = 3500 + 28571 = 32071

If you craft any cards at all prior to opening packs, those packs are worth less. You're best off getting 100% of your pack opening done in one go, and then crafting after. Otherwise, you lose on gold & dust.

To get 32071 gold per year, you need to acquire 88 gold per day on average from daily quests & grinding. Weekly brawls, monthly ladder rewards, and bonus packs/dust help smooth out the estimates.

Long story short, if I keep opening packs right now, I won't have gold for the next xpacs, I'll have to pay $$$.

I don't feel like the dust amounts are worth getting rid of the cards.
Who knows how long this game will be out and how long it will be updated.
Having wild cards from way back when could end up being a big thing in the future.
Also sometimes I get tired of playing vs the same decks in casual and it is nice to use some of my old cards I love like emperor thaurissan.

I even thought of just dusting ones I knew I wouldn't use, but I can never know for sure. That stupid 1/1 charge boar is one of the most used cards now and I thought it was useless.

I never dust anything that I don't have duplicates of.

Except I dusted a golden Ysera a while back cause it sucked in the meta at the time and I needed to craft a legendary for a deck. Still regret that one lol.

I've only ever had 4 golden legends and I regret de'ing every one of them.

Cenarius
Malygos
Varian wrynn
One I can't remember

It's only because I had the non golden versions. I wish I would've kept them though...

Just did a major disenchant. 14,000 dust worth of cards left in wild collection if I D/E.

Spent 32.5k dust on this expansion. Only opened 14-ish packs. 11k was pre-disenchanting. Still have 2.5k dust. There's 4 legs I might craft later (totally unused in meta currently), and I think 1 epic left. I crafted everything else.

If I stick it out in the game, I'll just save gold moving forward. Or I'll quit. One of the two.

I imagine Wild will eventually get support and get good. But that'll be 2 years from now, if not longer.

If standard doesn't get proper treatment, wild won't either. I figure I'll just stick with standard and save myself some $$$ for now.

i'm not DEing because i feel like eventually they will start mixing up the standard format so as to it's no longer the last 2 years of cards but a number of random expansions put together
