Reno Jackson

I finished rank 6 in January primarily using this deck. Many people are running counters to Pirate deck, and hold a lot of cheap aoe removals in their opening hand.

When playing against a likely Pirate opponent (Warrior, Rogue, and I've seen a few Paladins lately running it), mostly in ranks 15-20), it is very important to have a fan of knives or a Doomsayer.

Slow play against all of your opponents, and use your life as a resource. Do not worry too much about opponent board presence, unless they are capable of 6 damage in a turn. Keep your removals and more importantly, your saps and vanishes.

Unless I have the nuts open, which is a Shadowstep, Brann, Coldlight, Preparation and a Gang Up, I never play a Coldlight until I can cycle.

Preparations should primarily be used on Gang Up and in particular, Vanish. On turn 7 you are capable of Brann, a SS'd Coldlight, Preparation and Vanish, which will eliminate an entire enemy board. I've toyed with the idea of Dirty Rat in this deck, but they seem too unreliable.

This deck takes a lot of practice and a lot of time to invest in if you want to have a high win rate with it, and your average turns per game are much higher than even most control decks.

Reno is saved until the end of the game, when you and your opponent have milled away your entire decks. I've won games hilariously via Reno receiving an extremely late Gang Up and then Coldlight the next turn.

Shadowstep is to be used primarily on Coldlights, but Brann is an extremely viable target as well, especially if you have already played Gang Up on one Coldlight.

This deck is extremely fun, but it can test your patience and extremely poor draws can lose you a game very fast. Be patient and practice, and in a short time, you will see success in the deck, and rage from your opponents. Be warned: mill decks make people rage.
