i'm new to this game. i prefer magic myself but i like the mix-up tavern brawl offers.
i have not gone nearly into enough depth to really set a goal yet. i could spend money, but i am in no rush to do such as i enter a game.

i am more looking at adventures just to keep options open. i hear these solo adventures are only available for a certain time, but remain available if you purchase the first mission of each.
the disenchanting i'm only seeing as an extra benefit to this. but if there is truly no value in these adventures i may change my mind about them.

Blizzard's plan is to roll out one adventure and one set out of standard each year, so TGT and BRM will go out in 2017 so I wouldn't recommend investing in those. As people said before - classic packs are the core for the most decks, LoE is also a nice adventure, provides a lot of good cards used commonly in most of the decks out there, so if you want to get an adventure I'd recommend LoE. If you get good enough to get a decent arena score it's a great place to learn the cards and farm gold.

If you have just now started, but classic packs until you have almost all of the rares and commons, then i would suggest opening the LOE expansion. If you are trying to build your card pool quickly i would do this.

Also, if you can learn arena I played arena for a solid 2-3 months when i first started playing because it gives you cards and whatnot at a faster rate than just buying them with gold as long as you can manage 5+ wins on average

It will be one half as good without double armor.

You're forgetting every turn before you get him, and the lack of a strong body when you play him...
If the game is decided by turn 9-10 you were better off not having him in the deck at all
And with the explosive fashion of current decks that is a lot of cases (Call of the Wild..)

Its use is mostly for pure control vs pure control
