I liked the discussion and each player has a fundamentally different way of playing arena, it would have been great to have Hafu on the show as well imo. You don't get 15k+ arena wins without a deep understanding of the game mechanics and develop a following like they do without playing the game in your own unique way. I wouldn't say he sounded stupid at all, just simply sees the game in a different way, and the discussion they had was great because of it.

You say "way of playing arena" but arena isn't preference based... there are actual best cards and best plays...

It absolutely is preference based, just like playing any game is. Your assumption is that every single arena should be getting maximum wins, and I don't think that is always the way ratsmah plays. ADWCTA also doesn't simply pick down the tier list of classes and Kripp always has done his own thing. The card picks are also very subjective as well and you can see different streamers favor different cards.

Wtf are you talking about lol
An arena tier list is specifically what gets the highest wins on average

Regardless of what they pick, there is a best option that they could be picking. And a best option of what to play in each turn based on probabilities.

That's why you hear them say they don't play around board clears until a certain amount of wins. Probabilities.

A tier list has NO relevance to preference. Preference is a word unskilled players use to justify something that is not as good (in all games, not just Hearthstone).

I prefer Magma Rager over Ice Rager! Looks cooler and it has synergy with my mortal coil if I need to dig into my deck!

what about when you consider steward of darkshire

the magma rager is clearly better in that deck.. idk I tend to agree with you both here.. thing is people don't always play optimally, and one is likely to play better when they are doing it comfortably..

so idk... glhf

e/ hehhhhhhhhhhhhhh

His reasoning was all garbage
And they counter argued everything he said, leaving him speechless.

How did I sound like an idiot? Kripp has even recently said on his stream that now he thinks Warrior is on par with Paladin.

We are talking about the power levels of the classes not what the average player would do well with. Of course the average player has no clue how to play Warlock or Druid to its maximum potential. Mage and Paladin are much easier classes to pilot. Don't mistake power tiers with what you personally are capable of playing.

Froggy isnt ment to be taken serious lol, i rly feel like ur not taking into account of the past two expansions. What kripp said abt paladin < warrior i think he ment was this : since newer cards have more chance of appearing on the selection, if you take into account the commons and rares warrior got compared to paladin, your more in favor of having a more consistent draft with warrior since the commons and rares are extremly good compared to the medicore paladin cards etc.

Yeah i didn't actually watch Kripps stream when he said that. Just got some reports from viewers that he said something like that. I definitely think a lot of the classes got closer together in strength. The only outliers really being the worst classes ie. the priest and hunter. But as I said in the video, I hardly ever play Paladin. Post Old Gods I've played 2 Paladin runs and more than 60 combined Hunter and Priest runs. I don't find it satisfying to win with a class that is already established to be powerful.

He didnt say that and if he did i wouldnt know, i was going from his argument vs yours during the cast and picking at the key areas and came out with that assumption ( i feel like me and kripp think alike in our decisions on arena). I do have to say tho you as well as hafu have a soft spot for druid lol.. Anyway without writing a book this is my opinion on druid

1) its a low tier class (reasons are to follow)
2) drafts are inconsistent
3) druid spells except about 7 are prty horrible (which makes playing from behind a difficult task)
4) a good player knows to go face with druid when ahead ( i think this is why u and hafu life the class so much)
5) im tired gnite Zz

Druid has probably been my most consistent class through my entire arena career. The range of outcomes being the closest together within 5-12 wins. Many other classes are high variance depending on deck quality and you will see many low runs and high runs. A good example of this would be something like Shaman which is pretty card dependent. (Every Flamewreath adding a win to the deck). Also any class is terrible playing from behind and I don't really see Druid being more weak playing from behind than say a Mage. Flamestrike is generally played with the card faced up and is easy to play around when the option is available.

My main point would be that the general population does not play Druid well and that should not be the reason for it to be a low-tier class. I would say most strong players would agree that it is at least in the top half of classes.

"Sounded like an idiot" is not bound by skill level or even the game itself
The others spoke more confidently and disregarded a lot of what he said.

Especially their discussion about why he put Paladin low on the list.

Kripp pretty much said the same with druid.

I didn't think he sounded like an idiot.
