Agreed. The body is the issue, not the battlecry. The fact that it can potentially trade up, or it in effect with shadowflame... Hell, it could be a 1/1 and I'd use it.

Yea, he could probably be a 1/1 and still see play at 3, so a mana cost increase seems likely. I am definitely rooting for a nerf, I've got a golden one that I am ready to turn into a legendary and I'd like to see more fringe removal played. Maybe making bgh cost 5 will be enough for some classes to start playing other removal, like assassinate or mulch. If that's not enough, I don't mind if they give him the warsong treatment.

The effect for it's mana is the issue. Not the body.

No, it's the body for the mana cost.
For 3 mana and that effect you should be getting like a 1/2 or 2/2 at most.
For 5 mana I think a 4/2 would be fine.

There are lots of stuff to deal with big minions like Shadow word death, hex, etc
But getting a 4/2 body along with it is really strong

A 2 toughness minion isn't a huge deal. Removing a 7 drop for 3 mana is. 4 attack is a lot but that's hardly why people want a BGH nerf since almost any minion ever can trade into a 2 toughness minion.

It's a neutral minion and has the effect of class spells that are used in almost all decks.

doesn't matter if it was a 2/2, it'd kill Ragnaros for free and Dr 7. and still be played by everybody.

btw you use Hex and Shadow word death as an example.

those are class cards and would be played by almost all the other classes if they were neutral.

If the body is super weak then it becomes more of a detriment to run it against non-control decks.
Where as a 4/2 for 3 is still pretty good, making BGH actually worth playing on turn 3.

a 4/2 for 3 really isn't that good unless you can tempo play it. Pretty much every 1-2 drop in the meta can trade into it. A vanilla 4/2 for 3 mana is pretty weak.
