You choose to build an outdated mage deck and were surprised when you weren't winning left and right easily when it was done.

It was out of meta when you started building it.

Don't make new players think something that isn't true because you are dumb. Tempo mage is still strong.

I would say it's very diffcult to seriously get into the game without spending some irl money. You should definitely get Naxxramas and possibly the first wing of Black Rock Mountain. If you can, 60 classic packs would do wonders as well, but if you don't want to spend that much it's fine.

There are a few decent decks that you can make without that much dust that do pretty well. I'd say the best 3 cheap decks are:
-Face Hunter
-Aggro Paladin
-Zoo Warlock

I'm not going to post lists for them because there are so many variations, but icy-veins.com has good lists/guides that you should check out.

As far as playing in order to get good and get more cards, I would say just grind out ranked play. This will help you get better at the game and you will earn gold in the process. Spend the gold on packs once you unlock the expansions that you need. You probably just want to get classic packs. The chance of getting the exact legendary you need from a pack is so low that you shouldn't aim for this, instead you just want to try to get good common/rare cards and the classic packs have the best common/rare cards. You can just craft the cards you need from the other expansions.

Arena is something you should avoid because as a newer play you just aren't going to play well enough to make the arena worth it and you will lose gold.

>make a mage deck

try uninstalling, instead

mage is the only hero which has like 5-7 different type of decks.(echo giant, freeze mage, tempo, mech, dragon, fatigue, and control etc)

mage for sure is strong as fuck.you just pick wrong deck or you didnt learn how to play your deck perfectly.

@op,spend some money, get every single expansion/adventure and check some streamers to learn 1 or 2 things.

Those are the names of two of the expansions. Blizz has two kinds of expansions, ones where you pay for the expansion and you get all the cards, and ones where you have the option of buying packs and maybe getting the cards you want. The cards you get in Naxxramas are very good and you should definitely try to get those.

ok let me try a new question, i want a fun rush deck, but i realy dont wanna drop 60 bucks on a card game i might only play for a month while LoL is getting back into swing, how do i make a rush deck for some hero, idc which really, i just wanna play quick games that are fun.

How do i go about selecting a good deck, and then "making" that deck? I mean i just buy random classic packs?

what about this "defender of argus" card, or how do i know if thats a classic pack card, or if its from one of the expansions?

http://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/hunter-face-aggro-rush-tgt-deck

this deck here, im looking at and it says it costs so much dust etc, but idk how to actually create the cards or how many n ormal cards it would take to make that many new ones. Also, i notice there are NO classic cards in there, not even the neutral ones, they all have some sort of gem in them, classic cards are just crap?

Go into you card collection and hit the "crafting" button on the bottom right. You can "disenchant" cards to get dust and "craft" cards out of the dust that you have. "Classic" means they came out when the game was released. "Basic" means they don't have the little gem in it. "Common" cards have the white gem, "rare" have blue, "epic" have purple, and "Legendary" have orange. Basic cards you get just by playing a class to level 10, common/rare/epic/legendary you have to find in a pack or craft. If you are in your collection of cards and you right click a card to get a better description of it then it will tell you what expansion it is from.

if im just trying to make ONE deck, for one hero/playstyle, what is the shortest way to achieve that? I ask now because i think i did all the ealryish quest things, and im sitting on like 600 gold cause idk what to do with it, ithink i already spent 300 gold on packs and got a few packs for free from doing some of the tutorial stuff.

i realize it could take some time, but if its a cheap deck and I can just sacrifice all the crappy cards ill never use anyway to get their quicker, then im fine with that.
