Vs classes that aren't mage, priest or shamen it's strictly better than piloted shredder in arena (because those classes have hard removals that are commons). It's not better than fire elemental but it's near the same value, and fire elemental is a top 10 arena card.
Hmmm. Is it not better than fire elemental? It I had to chose between the two of them I would probably pick fire guard.. Coining it out on 3 is insane and I've had three arenas where I drafted 4 of them and each one went 12 wins.. Like I said a 7-6 for 4 is insane... So insane the overload doesn't matter.
6-6 for 4 is just as insane as it destroys their yeti and 5-6 or 4-6 5 drop
Even a at its worst it's still a 4-6.. There's no drawback at all.. and in the games where I play turn 4 fire guard turn 5 fire guard it's normally too much for them to handle
As for the shreader argument I would never pick shreader over fire guard.. Shreader can die to a 2 drop you couldn't kill and some of the deathrattles you get from it (doomsayers / parot / novice) are awful.. Even when you get succubus or millhouse can you really say it is better?
Imagine it being a non class card.. Imagine Druid turn one coin innervate fire guard.. Impossible to deal with and trade value is well worth losing turn 2
