It's almost always dealt with on their terms. Once they realize it's not freezing/snake, which is usually the first to expect/check for, it's so easily played around.
I feel like the 3x 1-1's from snake trap provide the same synergy (if not better) for beasts and bow. It can often be bluffed as a freezing trap and used with juggler to force them to make much worse plays than falling for a bear trap would.
