I feel like this could be a separate guide/discussion. I do want to talk about Savage Combatant actually.

Same thing, but since this one is a quick answer I'll tell you a bit about it now: The whole purpose is to extend your reach. AoE deals 1 more damage and direct spells turn into Arcane Explosion in a sense. The purpose of Priest/Shaman is because it's easier to heal it after it takes damage. Not a good pick for shaman IMO

The bad thing is, all of my decks work. They're just really gimmicky. It's the RNG that gets to my head.

I almost always auto-include it in any Shaman list that doesn't SMorc.

Especially now, with all them Paladins running rampant.

What do you think is necessary to make decks viable that slow down your opponent? Including cards like Mana Wraith and Nerubian Weblord.

I tried this with Warlock (and adding Summoning Portals and Emperor Thaurissan). Failed miserably, but I like the MUD concept of MtG. Shame it doesn't seem viable in HS, at least atm.

I've tried so hard with Mana Wraith and Weblord. I did have a Weblord deck that was semi viable, as I believe Mana Wraith is terrible.

Here's the thing. The effect is INSANELY GOOD. It slows down handlock. Coining it out vs a zoo deck can mess their curve up. Hide it behind a taunt and it creates difficulties. But: the stats are terrible.

It's a 2/2 for 2 mana with no instant board effect. It's easily removed. If removed during their turn, the effect goes away. It's just too easily handled.

It's a great concept, it can work, but you're simply losing too much value by putting those cards in your deck.

I've actually recently added mana wraith into my malygos shaman. It's still difficult to prevail vs most aggro decks, but playing mana wraith with feral spirit on turn 4 is great. coin too obviously.

I'll post a list for those interested.

I'd be interested. I also had Mana Wrath in my Malygos shaman to help stall. I ended up swapping them out as itd ruin the game if I top deck one when I planned on doing Ancestors Call

Do Dalaran Aspirant

Imo it's quite the underrated card and a lot of opponents I've faced are threatened by it and usually over clear it.

It's been working really well in my tempo mage too, Pulled off some nice 9 damage fireballs with it =D
