Most of the Orange's are poo from blackrock (normal mode anyways, idk if heroic gives different ones). The only one I occasionally use is the Emperor Thaun. The others have such high cost and require such a perfect drawn hand late-game to use that they are almost entirely luck based (ontop of an already luck based game).

Nefarian isn't bad with certain heroes.

I spent money on the game, about $50? ($25 on blackrock). I think I bought 10 of basic and 10 of GvG packs and that's where I stand. I have most important cards, but haven't really leveled other heroes yet. My mage is 30 because I personally like perfecting one hero before moving on (I did the same on HotS with Jaina and then Sylvanas).

I understand the mentality of not wanting to buy what you can earn for free, but it is also a matter of how you value your time.

You could spend 25-40 hours getting beaten by stronger decks before you catch up to them, or you can gamble $20-40 (maybe 1-2 hours pay for the average person) and put yourself probably 10 hours ahead of where you 'would' be.

Personal preference.

True, I figured there was maybe someone who got insanely lucky :P

I bought my packs after about 3-4 games of being absolutely steam rolled (after completing all training missions and leveling my mage to 15) so I'm not 100% sure of the time investment needed to collect like 60-70% of available cards.

Personally, I value my spare time at slightly less than what I make per hour at work (since I'm still having fun playing the game, just less fun than I could be). So $69.99 for 60 packs seems like a pretty good deal. Considering that's about 3 hours work for most people. Vs (possibly) 50+ hours, or 2-3 weeks, or grinding with a less enjoyable experience than it could be.

Just my opinion, though. To each their own

A lot. It took me 2 months of getting atleast 140 gold a day to build my control warrior. Took me probably 4 more months of (Not as active in my farming for these 4 months) casual playing to get the rest of my decks. I also dropped probably like 60-80 bucks in these 4 months.

I suggest you to watch streamers who play arenas - just to know how to do it
And after that you should play arenas as much as you can from your daily quests (try to get 60+ gold ones or the pack reward)

In arenas you can get anything so it can be fun for new players too; and if you'll be good at it, you'll end up with such much money what you can spend on adventures or even more arenas for card packs and more gold

so tempting to buy packs though lol
I reached 17 with a custom basic paladin deck though :D
I don't know if that's good or not
