You will never be able to bet gold ... Unless they allow you to trade gold for cards and people "Bet". Reason for that its considered gambling and alot of country and states do not allow gambling blizzard would have to Somehow micromanage it.. People would put fake adresses in to bypass system ... It would be headache and hassle. Reason why certian people in certain states cant participate in blizcon for example maryland.

New hs format has been needed for a long time... Though idk what to make of tavern brawl? Not much info is listed.. - Will there be a ranking system, will there be rewards for hitting certain ranks or winning xx amount of games during the weekly ruleset..?
or is this just another 'filter' adding more RNG aspects? Could be a fun world for deck building, but there has to be some kind of reward or else why bother? -- It takes the average player quite some grinding//time to hit legend.. Arena and now brawl will add distractions on that road, and so there better be some reward..
If you wanted to make 'rules' for brawling with friends nothing stopped you in the past... I don't get. Need to see more. Not really opposed to the brawl idea, but not really too sure about it either..

Blizzard been making some really questionable moves lately.. E3 is coming this month, and blizzard will be demonstrating at the show.. I wonder if we will see a new set, or if a new set will see a delay because of these new game features... -- The hero skins are a terrible idea, brawl is iffy.. Can they really only demo these at e3? that would be a huge fail imo..

Looks hopelessly lame. This is why I was trying not to get my hopes up about tournament mode. I really miss the 8 man MTGO queues and Tournaments.

Instead we get cheap emote and cardback gimmicks and a ripoff of the tempostorm tournament.

Draw a bracket. When you face an opponent, fill their name into the bracket.
If you lose, start a new bracket.
There you go.. tournament mode.
Obviously I think tournament mode would be lame.

This is exactly the kind of update I was hoping for! This looks so fun.

Only thing I wish they do is make it so you can play against friends and/or queue up in casual mode based on old Tavern Brawl gametypes.

More radically it'd be awesome if they could create some sort of tool for creating custom gametypes. Highly doubt that'll ever happen but it would be amazing.



I did a lot of MTGO tournament grinding back in the day and it was a lot of fun. But tbh this Brawl thing is way better than a tournament mode IMO.

Confirmed to be entirely free as well, not just in the beginning. And free packs for your first win in the first "several" brawls, so it'll be nice for me as a relatively new player to boost my card (or dust) collection a bit.
