Patch Update

Colossus: Fixed an issue with Stalwart Aura where the knock resistance was not being correctly calculated.

Colossus: Osmium Punch no longer disables spirit regeneration when used.

Gameplay Changes: Defense

We’ve heard community feedback on defense, and have begun making changes with this patch. Defense has not been helping tanks enough, especially against higher level content.

With this patch we are improving defense for all heroes, but heroes that do not have dodge and/or do not have any ranged attacks will benefit more from the change.

To improve defense further, we will be adjusting powers and items and tweaking how defense works slightly in the future. This first step buffs items that provide defense:

Defense has been increased on items for all heroes by +30%.
Defense on items for Deadpool, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man, Ms Marvel and Thor has been doubled (x2).
Defense on items for Thing, Hulk and Colossus has been quadrupled (x4).
Defense on artifacts and medals has been significantly increased.

Colossus Changes:

Battle Aura: Now gains an increased effect from other aura powers.

Bulwark of Steel: Now gains defense synergy from Metallic Warrior.

Colossal Punch: Lowered damage synergy from Crushing Smite and Osmium Champion from 2.5% to 2%.

Crushing Smite: Lowered damage synergy from Colossal Punch and Osmium Champion from 2.5% to 2%.

Metallic Warrior: Now gains damage synergy from Bulwark of Steel.

Osmium Champion: Now gains duration synergy from Crushing Smite and Colossal Punch.

Osmium Charge: Lowered damage synergy from Steel Splash and Spinning Fists from 2.5% to 2%.

Osmium Punch: Lowered damage synergy from other basic powers from 2.5% to 2%.

Protective Aura: Now gains an increased effect from other aura powers.

Reeling Punch: Lowered damage synergy from other basic powers from 2.5% to 2%.

Spinning Fists: Lowered damage synergy from Steel Splash and Osmium Charge from 2.5% to 2%.

Stalwart Aura: Now gains an increased effect from other aura powers.

Steel Punch: Lowered damage synergy from other basic powers from 2.5% to 2%.

Steel Splash: Lowered damage synergy from Spinning Fists and Osmium Charge from 2.5% to 2%.

Sustaining Aura: Now gains an increased effect from other aura powers. Slightly increased regen scaling with ranks.

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to my Barbarian 2.0

I threw this together just so people have an Idea on Colossus.

In no way shape or form am I stating this is the best.

I personally have talked to the First Colossus 60 and another streamer who is 55. We haven't talked a ton, but all of our builds are similar for Spinning Fists.

My current Build I use is Spinning Fist and I am level 40.(Leveled someone else @ Start to 30.)

Keep in mind this is based off Defense being broken and will be updated in the future according to patches / changes.

Tanking Explanation:

Right now Defense is broken. This has been confirmed by David Brevik and Lead Designers. Currently I am not using Bulwark of Steel because of this. Perhaps in future patch I will swap over some stats for heavy base defense.

Main Source of Damage Absorption: Osmium Skin: Passive : Your armor protects you from additional damage.
-To sum this up it is an overshield. Think of Halo or Mordekaiser in League. It acts as a barrier that absorbs XXX amount of damage.

Main Damage Block From Bosses: Guarded Stance : Active : Hold down the hotkey to enter a defensive stance that blocks damage from enemies in front of you.
-Throws both his fists up and blocks damage. I Personally only put 1 stat for now. I may throw in more toward the end of level cap.

Damage Block / Spirit Gain: Deflective Armor: Passive: Your steel skin occasionally deflects incoming projectiles. Using Guarded Stance increases the chance of deflection.
- Not only does it block special attacks such as Shockers Falling Rocks, but it has a chance to return spirit when deflecting a enemy's shot or ability. Ultimately letting you Spin Fist for days.

Tired of being Frozen or Stunned?:Break The Chains:Passive: You shake off all negative conditions preventing movement.
-Spammable skill that allows you to remove CC

Teammates are Squishy?:Heroic Challenge:Active: Incite nearby enemies to attack you.
- AOE Taunt with a Decent Radius to keep those squish members alive.

Damage Explanation:

Right now there are two solid builds that I have tried and liked. There may be more or different combinations. This is an early guide so bare with me.

Single Target:

Anyone want to Box?: Crushing Smite: Spirit Melee: Knock down enemies in front of you with a powerful punch.
-This is your Dominant Right Click. I feel as though Crushing Smite Offers the Best Scaling Knockdown. This is the first Step in your Combo.
-I would use this on Boss Fights as its pretty spammable and then auto until your spirit regens.
-I would consider using the knock down that has a bleed, but right now bleeds don't Crit.

Double Damage? Why Not?:Reeling Punch:Melee, Basic Power:Swing in an arc at enemies in front of you. Deals double damage to knocked down enemies.
-This is the bread and butter of knock down skills. Again I felt as this worked best with Crushing Smite because of the scaling and double damage to knock downed enemies.
- Alternate with your Osmium Punch to keep your armor shield up for tanking.
-Great Combo with a Wolverine who use their knock down skill

Aoe DPS:

Spin FTW:Spinning Fists: Spirit, Area Power: Unleash a titanic punch against enemies in a short line in front of you, causing knocked down enemies to bleed.
-This is your bread and butter. Max this with its synergies: Steel Splash & Osmium Charge. (Don't forget your Charge does damage. Use it in and out of Battle)
- Right now at level 40 I 1-2 shot Orange Mobs (By shot I mean Damage ticks. I get about 3-5 Tickets according to dummies in CHP.1)
-Combos well with Hulk, Jean, and Scarlet Witch

Boss Tanking No Problem: Osmium Punch: Melee, Basic Power: Swing your fist at enemies in front of you, with a chance to regain armor on each hit.
-This auto attack allows you to have a % to regain your armor from your Osmium Punch. Thus allowing to keep your Absorption Shield Up. I believe even with 1 point it Has a 40% chance. I currently have 5 Into as the base.

The biggest part of your Spinning Fist Build can be your Spirit Consumption. I am using an artifact that has a % to regain spirit when attacking. I personally want to get different ones that proc when hit because I will mostly be in the middle of things taunting and spinning my brains out. Not only that, but you will be surprised how often your Deflective Armor will give you back spirit.

Warning:
Known Bugs:
Osmium Punch will delay the regeneration of your spirit. (Posted by Devs)
Defense is not working properly (Posted By Devs)
I have tested Power Duration and Attack Speed on Spinning Strikes and it doesn't feel to be effected.
I haven't tested Osmium Champion Debuff with the single target build. I guarantee your going to want at least a point as its a passive.

Other Thoughts:
With the mention of multiclassing in the last interview with David, I will build more information on Single Target DPS Skills.
I feel as most of the Aura's don't scale well enough. Let me know your thoughts.
I just usually get them off items and use whatever it gives me.
I feel as Steadfast Champion is pretty useless because no one wants to run away from a fight to recharge some armor. Your better off with your Osmium Punch.
+ Defense Pen on Items is amazing

Again this is just something I mocked up and I would love your opinions / experiences with Colossus.

Patch Thoughts

Came out great. I can finally get some spirit back while fighting bosses during my auto.

Don't get one shotted by dooms punch anymore (solo ofc)

Defense buff was aight, but honestly didn't change much.

Bulwark still useless because armor scale off items is now incredibly large, and 20 points for a lowsy 200 defense is far from worth it.

Nerf on Synergies lost me roughly 100 damage.

The skill tree is on the first page. No changes after patch if you read my above post.
There is no way to determine "best" kind of items to use.
It's early release and this is the first guide ever posted for Marvel Period.
No way in hell am I professional gamer or did any data mining to determine the best.

Come on no offense but these forums are starting to piss me the fuck off.
Have no of you played a single fucking RPG? With my build you obviously want items with + ranks to Spinning Fists and it's synergies. And as a tank look for dodge, health, and high defense.

Well with current Artifacts not working correctly kind of hard to determine what is the best.

I personally would like to use :

2x Pym Shrinking Serum

& or 1x w/

Starstone Tooth

I am currently using a Starstone Tooth and a Ringed Ruby of Raggadorr.

In regards to Medals:

I am using M.O.D.O.K

+(63-104) Damage
(4-7)% Chance to taunt and enrage nearby enemies when you hit
+1 To all Powers

I have tested Doc Octs, but no difference in Radius Damage and Crit does not effect Spinning Fists. (Based off Dummies in Chp1)

I switch it out occasionally with Madame Hydra (when playing with premade or doing group challenges)

Each Teammate gets a bonus +(33-52) to Damage
(4-5)% chance to make your teammates invulnerable for 3 seconds
Regenerate (3) Spirit when you defeat an enemy
+1 To all Powers

Depends,

I havent found a Blob higher then 375 Health, and the + 100 defense is horrible after the armor buff.

Worth getting damage over 100 Armor any day. Especially after Patch.

(My Blob defense didn't change after patch. Maybe they didn't change Medallions and just items in patch?)

Same with Jug, just haven't rolled a good one.

Not sure Max Stat roll on HP as the site I use is behind on updates.

Again though Jug Medal Gives around 100 Defense.

And a very low % to become Invun. Madame Hydra has a higher % to Proc.
