Well, This question has popped up in the minds of MANY people out there. No one really can say for sure 'cause it's generally all in matter of opinion. Sure, EverQuest II is a LOT more user friendly than EQ1, but I've played both for an extensive amount of time and all it REALLY does is take the challenge out of the game. In my opinion, they should've done an exponential amount of upgrading to EQ1 rather than produce a second one. EQ1 was already the largest MMORPG ever created So... why make a new one and take member from EQ1? Some people can't afford to get both and pay monthly So, it's one or the other. Why start over? LOTS of people said screw EQ2 just because of the fact they didn't want to have to start over. So, why not just make the levels on EQ1 GO HELLA higher. Such as, well.. lvl 150. New zones, Better items, A funner gameplay at higher levels, more variety of leveling areas, Faster paced gameplay, More in depth PvP system, And WAY more interesting types of gameplay(example: Diablo type Aerial view and 1st/3rd person.) There was an aerial view, but It didn't work out good for the type of gameplay and character movement. Anyways, I've played EQ2 up to a decent level of 42 Not to mention 3 other chars with levels: 28, 21, and 20... And it seemed to be rather EASY with little challenge. The graphics were decent at max performance, but Graphics don't make a game; It's gameplay that makes the difference. Combine EQ2, EQ1, and Guild Wars... You've got one hell of a game.
