I find that Spec Ops The Line is my favorite military type FPS with a gripping storyline and it came out recently.
Replay Borderlands.
Watch videos of Lineage Eternal 3 and drool over when it comes out.
I think there's been a shortage of nice RPGs that's come out lately unless you wanna go as far back as Kingdoms of Amalur. Wasn't a fan of The Witcher 2.
Play/replay any of these 4 FPS: Bulletstorm, Rage, Metro 2033, Farcry 2. All easily better than any typical military FPS, unless you're just inclined towards that.

path of exile is good 10$ for a beta key, DayZ is awesome its 30$ for arma 2 combined ops and dayz mod is free, transformers war for cybertron has really fun multiplayer its also 30$, bullet run is pretty fun its a free to play fps there is alot more
