No one I know has ever played it so I'm sort of getting anxious not being able to discuss it with anyone <_<

I have it, but never beat. And yes I really do like the game. From what I played of it, I think it is one of the best RPGs on the PS1. It has a really good atmosphere, the humor is really well done, and the story is very interesting. I probably only played for like 10 hours though, so I don't get too terribly far in the game. I played a little of Claude's story, but my main file was from Rena's perspective. I think I never finished it because I had some files going on Valkyrie Profile and Chrono Cross at the time, so the game kinda took a back seat and I just never followed up on it. But yeah, it's a really good game from what I played so far. It is one game that I'll beat one day, along with Grandia. Those two PS1 RPGs I have vowed to beat someday lol.

On a side note. Enix was amazing back in the day. Had some awesome games on the PS1.

Grandia, takes me back. Haven't messed with the first one but now that you just mentioned it I'm gonna go ahead and get it. I've beat Grandia II, and remember my parents getting me Grandia III but after looking at some screenshots and me not being able to recollect ANYTHING about it, I don't know what the hell happened there.

I love Star Ocean 2 though, I know when I was younger I poured about 50 hours into it but can't really remember anything past the first disc so here I am ~16 hours into it again. It was top-notch that you could choose to focus on either Claude or Rena (although it's said you get a tad bit more storyline playing as Claude, and fuck Dias), the private action feature which could you net you interesting story tidbits, alternate endings and some badass items. Like you pointed out, the humor, the happy-go-lucky atmosphere, yada yada.

Messaged. I just watched some gameplay and it brought back SOOOOOO many memories. I remember so much from that game.

I played it on the PS1 years ago but never beat it. I bought it for PSP a couple of years ago and I really like it. I have all the Star Ocean games but I've only beat the first one. I do plan to beat the second one soon though.

It's a piece of excellence. Have yet to play the first one for SNES; I've played The Second Story and The Last Hope (for PS3). Haven't beat either of them though, which is kind of embarrassing.

Beat it back in the PSX days.
Think I'll replay it on an emulator after I finish Grandia, and a bunch of others. :P

Heh, that's what I'm doing. Have a folder with about 9 games I've set out to beat in due time. Of course Final Fantasy XIII-2's release is going to slow me down a bit.
